The 2009 McLeans Island Vintage Country Fair was a great success. If you missed out this year the next one will be held in 2011.

McLeans Island Vintage Country Fair

28th & 29th March 2009

The Vintage Car Club Canterbury, NZ Vintage Machinery Club and The Canterbury Steam Preservation Society will be jointly hosting the McLeans Island Vintage Country Fair on their grounds covering 65 acres at McLeans Island Christchurch on Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th March 2009.

A full program over the two days will include displays of vintage cars, motor cycles and trucks; working traction engines, vintage tractors and working machinery.

There will be opportunities to steer a traction engine, ride behind vintage tractors or ride on a train hauled by a steam locomotive.

Continuous programs in the arena such as motor cycle stunt riding, police dog displays vehicle parades, working display by a fire crew on a vintage steam operated Shand Mason fire engine in fact sufficient to entertain the entire family over the weekend.

The Canterbury Clydesdale Club will be displaying their horses on both days.

There will be food and refreshment stalls, Trade stalls

Remember to mark your calenders on the 28th and 29th March 2009 for the biggest and best event of its type.
